WHAT PEOPLE
ARE SAYING

I first went to Steph (Shine Acupuncture) in 2016 after developing a golfball sized knot in my instep. My plan was to have weekly sessions until the knot went away. The knot was gone after a few sessions and now, almost 10 years later, I’m still seeing Steph weekly! Steph is a skillful practitioner and has become a trusted part of both my self care and medical care team. I had no idea the impact of acupuncture on my health and well being. The short list of what we’ve worked on over the years: irregular periods, sleeplessness, stress, anxiety, grief, malaise, and the list goes on. In our early sessions together, Steph asked a lot of questions about my overall health, but now that we’ve been together so long and she’s such an intuitive practitioner, she frequently knows what’s going on with me just from looking at me and feeling my energy. I cannot recommend Steph and Shine Acupuncture enough! It has been a life-changing or, more accurately, life-improving experience!

When I began my journey with uterine cancer and hysterectomy surgery, I decided that I would go to Shine for aid in healing. Each week’s appointment, post-op, gave my body and mind support to continue healing. The range of emotions and physical challenges in healing was met with expert knowledge and advice during each session. I continue to go for the zen like experience and support for transitional phases of menopause. Not only does Stephanie listen but she gently steers my body back to what it should be doing

Our Story
Stephanie earned her Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from Yo San University in Los Angeles, CA. As one of the top three schools in the nation for Traditional Chinese Medicine, Yo San afforded Stephanie the privilege to train under leading doctors in the fields of both traditional Eastern and allopathic Western medical sciences giving her the unique ability to approach disease from both angles in order to achieve success. The Pulse Project and The Ember Loft were born out of Stephanie’s personal recovery journey from severe anorexia and bulimia and she humbly considers it an honor to help women recover from disordered eating through the signature program she created. Having always been fascinated by nutrition and the concept of using food as medicine, she bridges both facets of her work by teaching others how to use food to their advantage to recover from all kinds of ailments from pain to athletic performance to food addiction. A devoted wife and mother of three, Stephanie enjoys this job the most and considers it a high honor to be tasked with the important duty of raising her daughters in the world.

Acupuncture is performed using hair thin needles (you can fit 20 acupuncture needles into the hole of a hypodermic needle!) inserted into specific points on the body to achieve results. The needles do not hurt and treatment sensations can include heaviness, goosebumps, heat, coolness, etc. Acupuncture treatments are overall very relaxing!
No way! All women are welcome! The Pulse Project framework is created around the tenets of the Catholic faith but the neuroscience behind the recovery work is all the same. The Ember Loft is a wonderful opportunity to meet other women who are traversing the same, oft isolating, journey of recover from disordered eating.
